Distant Bay

Distant Bay wines are from the increasingly popular Monterey County, a region-centric grape growing region noted for creating Burgundian style wines of distinction.

Tucked into the Santa Lucia Highlands, our vineyards lie just 30 miles from Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The California central coast's cooling fogs and mild temperatures combine to create a long growing season. The extra hang time creates a host of complex flavors.

The Chardonnay has classic tropical fruit characters and inviting aromas of fresh pears. This wine is a perfect mate for mealtime. Barrel aging the Pinot Noir in French oak brings classic aromas and a complex palate with bright cherry notes and balanced complexity.

“In the next ten years, look for wines from California’s Central Coast to take their place alongside Napa’s hallowed bottlings. No viticultural region in America has demonstrated as much progress in quality and potential greatness as the Central Coast.” Robert M. Parker Jr. Food & Wine October 2004
